Book of Lies Crowley, Aleister 0877285160 / 9780877285168 Paperback This is a series of quirky, epigrammatic sayings/poems/stories. To really understand all the little puns and nuances requires an understanding of western qabbala and of Crowley's own highly idiosyncratic occult theories. To really enjoy the book, however, all one needs is that enignma, Common Sense, as rare as it is common.

Diary of a Drug Fiend Crowley, Aleister 0877281467 / 9780877281467 Paperback It is a story of love and the couples reliance on drugs to survive, nothing else matters to them. It is not the subject matter that is important, it is Crowleys ability to explain and enlighten the reader to the glory of drugs and their hellish undertow. Crowley was a lifelong heroin addict and is more than qualified to explain. He tells us that when on a drug like heroin, one is perfectly capable of thought and able to aknowledge the world around them, however, the impression left is like flashes of lightning which illuminate the area, giving you a glimpse of what is around for the briefest of moments. The novel is very psychological with insight to the thoughts, and therefore the actions, of a drug addict. Price:

Illustrated Goetia Crowley, Aleister 1561840483 / 9781561840489 Paperback "Goetia [refers to] all the operations of that Magick which deals with gross, malignant or unenlightened forces." Goetia is sometimes thought of as a wild card, something that can get out of control, something which expresses the operator's lower desires to control others and improve his own personal life. And, in fact, this potential loss of control, this danger, the desire for self improvement and great power is exactly what attracts many people to Goetia while horrifying and repelling others. Crowley's Goetia is brought to life with vivid illustrations of the demons. Commentary by DuQuette and Hyatt bring the ancient arts into the modern day. Price:

Magick : Complete Book Four Crowley, Aleister 0877289190 / 9780877289197 Hardcover Liber Aba is as important to magick as Einsteins general theory of relativity is to science. If you are familiar with Weisers 1993 edition don't be fooled by the cover, this edition is a beast666 of a book that contains considerably more in the way of extended appendices, full glossary of terms, editors notes that could keep one occupied for days, full index and never before published A.'.A.'. papers amongst lots more. The Master Therion would i'm sure be chuffed to bits to see his magnum opus as he originally intended but never lived to see in his own lifetime. If you only ever intend to buy one of Frater Perdurabo's numerous works this one has all the right bits in one place. Crowley made sure no-one would ever get to the bottom of what he was ultimately about but this book is certainly the place to begin. Highly recommended.
